Montreal Massacre: Legacy of Pain (1999)

On December 6, 1989, Marc Lepine, a deranged anti-feminist,  walked into a classroom at Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal, ordered the women to one side of the room and began shooting. When the rampage was over, 14 young, female students lost their lives.

10 years later, CBC’s documentary series, The Fifth Estate, takes a sensitive look back at those events and attempts to understand what made Lepine do what he did.

“But the gunman’s plans extended beyond women he had never met. Lepine also left behind a list of other women he’d planned to kill – many of them well-known in Quebec.” TheFifthEstate
