This documentary and the two more that followed: Paradise Lost 2: Revelations, and Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory, helped bring the case international attention that was only further bolstered by the rock group Metallica allowing their music to be used in the films and celebrities like Henry Rollins, Johnny Depp & Peter Jackson publicly speaking about it and putting their time and financial support to help the boys in their long court cases that followed.

In 2012, Peter Jackson produced the incredible documentary ‘West of Memphis‘ that brought the entire case full circle.

In a peaceful Arkansas suburb, three eight-year-old boys are found maimed and brutally slain — one of them was castrated.
